This podcast was recorded in partnership with National Association of Chronic Disease Directors in support of the Native Diabetes Prevention Network. While the topic and issues discussed in this podcast are applicable to all Lifestyle Coaches, the interviewee was chosen because of their experience working with American Indian and Alaska Native persons in the lifestyle change programs. Some of the discussions in the podcast focused on the AI/AN population specifically.

Stress and Lifestyle Change

In this episode, the conversation explains and explores the difference between stressors and stress and the impact of stress on the body and lifestyle change behaviors.  The Lifestyle Coach guest, Camilla Barajas from the Winnebago Public Health Department in Nebraska shares the most common stressors faced by their program’s participants and how she as a Lifestyle coach supports participants in recognizing and responding to stress and stressors in ways that support their health and lifestyle change goals.

*This episode was recorded as a part of a collaborative CDC funded project between the National Association of Chronic Disease Directors in support of the Native Diabetes Prevention Network.
