The Diabetes Training and Technical Assistance Center (DTTAC) at Emory University is providing distance training to prepare people to serve as Lifestyle Coaches to deliver the evidence-based National Diabetes Prevention Program (National DPP). This 3-day training will be held virtually on May 14, May 15 & May 17, 2024. Please make note of the following training hours as they are required to complete the hours required for a Lifestyle Coach training certification:

  • Tuesday, May 14, from 1:00pm - 5:30pm Eastern Time (ET)
  • Wednesday, May 15, from 1:00pm - 5:30pm ET
  • Friday, May 17, from 1:00pm - 5:300pm ET

The CDC-led National DPP is an evidence-based lifestyle change program for preventing type 2 diabetes. The year-long program helps participants make real lifestyle changes such as eating healthier, including physical activity into their daily lives, and improving problem-solving and coping skills.

Led by an expert Master Trainer, DTTAC's Lifestyle Coach distance training is a three-day virtual training that will provide your organization's Lifestyle Coaches with the skills, knowledge and experience to successfully facilitate the lifestyle change program. The training is highly interactive, and participants have the opportunity to practice their skills to effectively deliver the National DPP lifestyle change program.
