DTTAC prepares qualified Lifestyle Coaches to serve as Master Trainers Select to provide Lifestyle Coach training for the National Diabetes Prevention Program (National DPP) for their organization or network to prepare others for in-person delivery of the lifestyle change program. The Master Trainer Select program allows for greater sustainability and quality control within organizations and systems delivering the National DPP lifestyle change program. It is not intended to prepare independent or national trainers.
Eligibility: In order to be considered for the Master Trainer Select program, interested individuals must meet the following:
Have been formally trained as a Lifestyle Coach by a national training entity listed on the CDC website or a DTTAC trained Master Trainer Select.
Have facilitated at least one group through the year long lifestyle change program, preference is given to candidates with more than one cohort/more than one year of facilitation experience.
Work for an organization that has pending, preliminary, or full recognition through the CDC's Diabetes Prevention Recognition Program and is seeking to train additional Lifestyle Coaches within their organization or network.
The sponsoring organization will be asked to complete an Organization Commitment Form verifying the individual's role within the organization and the organization's intent to train Lifestyle Coaches.
Only those candidates who are formally invited to become a Master Trainer Select will be invited to participate in the training. Please do not make travel arrangements until you have received confirmation that you have been selected for the program. The training is a 2-day, in person training held in Atlanta, GA. The trainings are subject to cancellation based on number of candidates accepted and available for training.
