DTTAC Advanced Peer Learning Series

Lifestyle Change and Weight Loss Medications: Friend, Foe, or Something Else?

Competency: Supporting Behavior Change

Part 1 - Live Webinar

Wednesday, February 22, 2026 from 12:00 - 1:00pm CT

The efficacy and availability of prescription medications (GLP1s) to treat overweight and obesity is on the rise! Potential and current participants in the National DPP lifestyle change program may be considering or already taking prescription medications to treat overweight and obesity. In the first part of this webinar, clinical pharmacists will explain (in plain language) how these medications work, what the benefits of these treatments are, and potential side effects a person taking them may experience. In the second part of this webinar, Lifestyle Coaches will talk about important considerations when facilitating the program with participants being treated with these medications and how the lifestyle change program can be seen and promoted as an adjunct support program for individuals seeking medication treatment.

Part 2 - Live Peer Dialogue Session

Wednesday, March 11, 2026 from 12 - 1:00pm CT

Join fellow Wisconsin Lifestyle Coaches and Program Coordinators virtually for a follow-up peer dialogue session where you will discuss applying webinar concepts within your own lifestyle change groups!
